Research interests

Simon qualified in 2003 from the University of Brighton and has worked in the NHS for 10 years specialising in the areas of nail surgery and podiatric musculoskeletal pathology before taking up the joint role of Clinical Podiatry Manager and Senior Lecturer at Brighton University.

Simon has gained the Postgraduate Certificate of Podiatric Theory and passed the fellowship in surgery of the college of podiatrists Part A examination in March 2007 and gained his MSc in the Principles of Podiatric Surgery 2014.  Since this time he has gained five years’ experience successfully supervising Undergraduate and Post Graduate Podiatry research projects and gained fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

He is chair of the Clinical Educators Expert Reference Group and has an active role in the Nail Surgery Expert Reference Group and regularly attends the South East Managers Forum at the society 0ffices. 

Simon also has a lead role in external clinical practice placements.
