Research interests
I am interested in how we can use a social marketing approach to tackle key 'wicked issues' facing society today, particularly using a whole systems approach, shifting the focus from encouraging behaviour change to enabling it. I have designed, implemented and evaluated a number of social marketing projects through Brilliant Futures, my social marketing consultancy including:
- Happiness Heroes: Increasing the early adoption of self-care behaviours to improve mental and emotional health and wellbeing in young children and their families.
- Fuel 4 Fun: Increasing healthy eating and physical activity among primary school children
- Encouraging and Enabling breast-feeding in public and when returning to work
- Reducing sunbed useage by young people
- Reducing binge drinking by young people
- Increasing access to education, employment and training by young NEETs.
