My research interests lie in broad fields of social cognition, individual differences, anomalistic psychology, forensic psychology, and more recently sustainability psychology (thelatter drawing from environmental, economic and consumer psychology). More specific research interests are as follows:
Anomalistic Psychology: Socio-cognitive and individual difference factors underlying anomalous beliefs and experiences (e.g., probabilistic reasoning biases, thinking style, gender role orientation, emotional intelligence, negative childhood experiences, adult attachment style, social & emotional loneliness); the Barnum effect; self-perceived high intuitiveness.
Forensic Psychology: Attributions of blame and credibility in cases of (child) sexual assault and sibling violence; public attitudes toward sex offenders.
Sustainability Psychology: Psychological ownership theory applied to access-based consumption; the psychology of Circular Economic thinking (cf. product service systems, peer-to-peer sharing); the negative footprint illusion.
Other : accuracy vs. socio-cognitive biases in person perception; socio-cognitive factors underlying lottery play.
Anomalistic Psychology: Social, cognitive and individual difference factors underlying anomalous beliefs and experiences (e.g., role of probailistic reasoning biases, childhood trauma, gender roles; emotiomal intelligence).
Forensic Psychology: Attributions of blame and credibility in cases of (child) sexual assault; application of psychological ownership theory to sexual or domestic abuse.
Sustainability & Economic Psychology: the psychology of sustainability or Circular Economic thinking (e.g., applications of psychological ownership theory to access-based consumption); ownership-based stereotypes (e.g., renting stigma).
