Personal profile

Research interests

My research interests lie in broad fields of social cognition, individual differences, anomalistic psychology, forensic psychology, and more recently sustainability psychology (thelatter drawing from environmental, economic and consumer psychology). More specific research interests are as follows:

Social Cognition / Indiv. Differences / Anomalistic Psychology: Socio-cognitive and individual difference factors underlying anomalous beliefs and experiences (e.g., probabilistic reasoning biases, thinking style, gender role orientation, emotional intelligence, negative childhood experiences, adult attachment style, social & emotional loneliness); the Barnum effect; self-perceived high intuitiveness, accuracy vs. socio-cognitive biases in person perception; socio-cognitive factors underlying lottery play.

Forensic Psychology: Attributions of blame and credibility in cases of (child) sexual assault and sibling violence; public attitudes toward sex offenders.

Sustainability Psychology: Psychological ownership theory applied to access-based consumption; the psychology of Circular Economic thinking (cf. product service systems, peer-to-peer sharing); the negative footprint illusion.
