Personal profile

Scholarly biography

I am a PhD researcher at the School of Education, Sports and Health Sciences. My research focuses on community engagement and the well-being of older adults, with attention to how everyday activities in care organisations and wider community settings contribute to the overall well-being of older adults.

I am a registered nurse with experience in haematology, oncology and care of older adults. These experiences have shaped my interest in ageing, well-being and the importance of supportive environments that enable older adults to maintain engagement in activities that matter to them. Prior to beginning my PhD, I completed a Master's degree in Nursing at the University of Sunderland in London. This experience sparked my commitment to evidence-based approaches to improving health and well-being.
