Research interests
Mel's research interests are within the field of health sciences and psychology. She is particularly passionate about the emotional well-being of performing artists living with adversities. Currently investigating musicians' lives, she takes a particular focus on resilience and mental health. Mel aims to bring new research to the field of well-being for young emerging artists.
Scholarly biography
Mel holds two academic degrees: Taking a humanistic approach to psychology the first degree was awarded by Middlesex University and achieved with an Upper Second-Class Honours in Counselling. In 2019 Mel achieved her Master of Music with Merit at Canterbury Christ Church University. The Master's degree embodied a multitude of facets to the study, modules included music psychology, music education, and music composition. A creative project in Dreamstate Songs was the masterpiece of the assignment.
