Dr Maxine Ali is a Lecturer in the School of Humanities and Social Science at the University of Brighton. She earned her PhD in Language, Discourse and Communication from King's College London in 2026.

Maxine's research examines the intersections between language, health, and technology, with a focus on gendered health communication, social media platforms, and post-truth digital economies. Additionally, she teaches at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels on modules in linguistics, media and cultural studies, and digital humanities.
