Scholarly biography

Kate is a Lecturer in Law and module leader of LLB Contract Law. She is also a qualified solicitor (non-practising). Kate completed her undergraduate LLB (Hons) Law degree in 2014, at Lancaster University. Following this, Kate completed her PhD at Lancaster University in contract law and legal history, passing without corrections in 2018. She is currently completing the PGCAP at the University of Brighton in order to obtain Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. Prior to joining the University of Brighton in 2022, Kate worked as a solictor at a London law firm, practising in the area of Commercial Dispute Resolution. 

Supervisory Interests

Kate's supervisory interests are, broadly, contract law. She would be particularly interested in supervising theses exploring the historical development of contract law or legal history generally.
