Joanna is a highly experienced Higher Education practitioner with a track record of cross institutional leadership in Education and Student Experience, excelling in the areas of Widening Participation, student retention, success and progression and currently leading on strategies to narrow the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Degree Awarding (attainment) gap. Prior to working in Higher Education Joanna worked at a senior level within Television Production and Commercial Theatre, within this career Joanna developed high level skills in organisation and management, emotional intelligence, interpersonal and communication skills which translate directly to senior roles in HE. Joanna is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Fellow of SEDA (Staff Educational Development Association) and also holds an MA in Education.
