Research interests

Jeanette's research interests encompass whistleblowing, in particular the effectiveness of whistleblowing legislation, legal education and contract law.  She is a member of the International Whistleblowing Research Network.

Approach to teaching

Jeanette's teaching areas of expertise are contract law and family law at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She also runs the Client Interviewing skills programme and runs the 'CLOCK time for justice' legal companion scheme in collaboration with the University of Sussex, whereby students assist litigants in person in the Brighton courts under McKenzie friend principles. She is a fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy.  Jeanette was a recipient of the University of Brighton's Excellence in Facilitating and Empowering Learning Award in 2016 and won Brighton Business School's 2017 Teaching and Learning Award.
