Research interests

Ioannis' research interests are in the fields of services marketing, marketing with new technologies, digital marketing, consumer behaviour, branding and MarComs. Ioannis has presented and published his work in academic journals (e.g. Information Technology & People, International Journal of Innovation Management, Journal of Strategic Marketing) and prestigious international conferences (e.g. EMAC, AMA, IAREP). Also, he has published a Monograph on Marketing Communications (Springer) and a book on Digital Branding (BEP).

So far he has supervised 1 PhD student and currently is supervising another one at Brighton Business School (BBS). He was also nominated as Greek National Coordinator for the European Marketing Academy in 2013. He is a member of the Higher Education Academy, Greek Marketing Academy, the European Marketing Academy, the Economic Chamber of Greece and the International Association of Research in Economic Psychology.

 

Approach to teaching

Ioannis has been teaching in Higher Education institutions for more than 10 years now, and has had the chance to teach various modules in the broad area of marketing and deliver lectures to different groups of students in terms of size and national background. Here in Brighton University he's been delivering lectures in: Digital Marketing, Principles of Marketing, Advertising, Branding and Communications, Research methods, Brand Management, Marketing Communications, Quantitative Methods, Marketing Research, Understanding Markets and Consumers etc.

He's been supervising numerous dissertations in the MSc Marketing (Digital Marketing), MSc Marketing (Branding & Communications), MSc Marketing (International Marketing) and MSc Marketing (Social Marketing)
