Personal profile

Research interests

My work is interdisciplinary, drawing on gender studies, sociology, media and cultural studies. I use feminist methodologies and discourse analysis to explore gender and popular culture.

Previous work has centred on the discursive production of thinness and I have recently published a monograph on pro-anorexia online spaces.

My current research includes a project on alcohol and femininity, with a particular focus on social class.
