Rebecca Atkinson is a Neurologic Music Therapist and Doctoral researcher with the University of Brighton. Alongside directing Chiltern Music Therapy she is part of the therapy and research team, and her main focus of work is in paediatric brain injury, neurodegenerative conditions, acute care and community rehabilitation.

Under an Arts Council scholarship, Rebecca’s PhD research project is investigating the impact of music and speech for those diagnosed with childhood dementia. Her continued collaboration and affiliation with UK and European research institutions, sees Rebecca at the forefront of current and pioneering research in the arts, health and music therapy sector.
