Personal profile

Research interests

I am currently completing my MSc Health & Education. My research seeks to explore personal tutors' perception of co-creating and using an interactive blog to supplement existing personal tutoring strategies for undergraduate nursing. This is revealing the unique nature of the personal tutor / tutee relationship in nurse education.

I have an interest in action research and its application in healthcare with a particular focus on nursing research.

Approach to teaching

As a module leader for Practice Learning for Nursing my teaching approach is mostly skills based learning. I am a Peer Assisted Study Success (PASS) supervisor and facilitate students with peer learning and advocate deliberate practice to develop mastery in clinical skills.

I developed the Skills Zone here at the University of Brighton which provides students with open access to skills equipment to encourage informal peer learning.
