Research Student, PhD, Investigating: The Role of Employment and Employers in Supporting Young People’s Wellbeing in Entry-Level and Early-Career Roles

Research interests

I am an ESRC funded PhD student, investigating the impact of employment on the wellbeing of young people entering a post-COVID labour market, in particular those employed in entry-level and early-career roles on the South coast.

I am the lead author of an article resubmitted to the Journal of Education and Work: "Earning Whilst Learning: Reframing Student Work and Wellbeing through Graduate Capital".  This paper was informed by employer interviews conducted in the first phase of the wider PhD.

Scholarly biography

I have an academic background in Organisational Psychology and Human Resource Management, am a CIPD qualified trainer and a Chartered Member of the CIPD. My most recent role was as the Head of Central Support at the University of Sussex Students' Union, supporting around 250 employees as the staff lead for Human Resource Management, Equality Diversity and Inclusion, Safeguarding and Complaints.
