Personal profile
Research interests
My research interests include literacy (including cognitive models of reading), interventions for literacy and dyslexia, and the convergence of internalising (depressive) and externalising (behavioural) symptoms and experiences of Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD’s). As such, my concerns have progressed towards the provision for disability groups, including the development of tests to better discern phonological awareness (a key indicator of dyslexia risk), and exploring interventions for rapid language and literacy improvement. I also have a keen interest in methods of distress alleviation (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, mindfulness, music therapy) to combine with literacy interventions, and am developing a research interest in music and memory.
