Research interests

Angelica Pizzo is a PhD Doctoral Research Student at the University of Brighton. Graduated at Birkbeck, University of London with a Bachelor's Degree in History of Art, she subsequently graduated with Distinction on a Master's Degree in International Tourism & Hospitality Manager at the University of Greenwich, in London. 

Angelica is currently working as an HPL at the University of Brighton teaching modules on the Environmental Impacts of Tourism & Special Interest & Niche tourism. 

Angelica's research interests are in Tourism, with a particular emphasis on Slow Tourism, its concept and theories, and its possible application as a mode of sustainable development for remote rural regions. Research interests also include sustainability & sustainable tourism development, CBT, regenerative tourism & destination planning and management. 

Angelica is very much interested in the research of the case study area of the Region of Extremadura in Spain (part of the current PhD research) which presents itself as a unique and remote place to be discovered and researched upon.

On the side, Angelica is a Professional Tour Guide with a great passion in art history and literature & film tourism.
