Knowledge exchange
Andy Davies (QTS, SFHEA) is Deputy Dean of the School of Education, Sport and Health Sciences. The focus of Andy's knowledge exchange work is initiating and delivering upon new and innovative pathways in collaboration with external partners to further teacher education and development.
Recent activity:
- successfully wining tenders and developing new provision for the formation of school-centred initial teacher training partnerships with Equalitas (2026), Surrey South Farnham SCITT (2025), Inspiring Future Teachers (2024), the South Downs SCITT (2021), 2Schools Consortium (2020) and Henry Maynard Training East 17 (2019);
- leading on the formation of new partnerships for further education and skills CertEd/PGCE provision with post-16 providers: Bexhill College (2021), Plumpton College (2021) and Reigate College (2021);
- leading successful bids including Office for Students Degree Apprenticeship funding competition for £98,810 (2024), DfE Teacher Degree Apprenticeship Secondary Maths Pilot for £12,500 (2024) and the DfE Tender for Subject Knowledge Enhancement provision (2021);
- UoB Research and Knowledge Exchange Development Fund awarded for market research into subject knowledge development for qualified teachers taking on new subjects (2025).
