Ana Isla Rodriguez

As a passionate academic working at the Univeristy of Brighton, I am interested in exploring effectiveness and application of digital techonology, peer learning and peer assessment approaches, and interprofessional learning in health courses. This aligns with my current work in Anatomy teaching and my MSc studies in Health and Education.

From a clinical perspective, my research interests are based around my clinical experience with Long Covid rehabilitation and expands into therapeutic interventions for wider mutisystemic long-term conditions.

My teaching philisophy is grounded in facilitating diverse learning experiences in a student-centred manner, with a focus on promoting accessibility, engagement, participation and growth. 

My approach emphasises collaboration with and among students, practical application and critical thinking. 

For Anatomy teaching I facilitate diverse learning means, including the use of virtual tables, use of models, body painting, applied case scenario discussions, and practical skills demonstration and application among peers. All of which are supported by a wide range of asynchronous learning resources that include videos, workbooks, self-assessment activities and textbook recommendations. I collaborate with colleagues from different disciplines in the use of virtual tables for anatomy teaching.

I aim to also explore, arrange and participate on interprofessional learning and teaching opportunities when possible to enrich health students experience.

My teaching materials and activities are informed by communication, collaboration and feedback from students and in founded on evidence-based practice.
