Scholarly biography
Alex Peter Gander is a post graduate research student at the University of Brighton where he has previously completed his undergradate degree, working under Professor Cyril Crua and the umbrellas of the Advanced engineering center and Sir Harry Ricardo Laboratories.
Whilst at the University Alex had also been a member of the formula student team 'Brighton Racing Motors' forming a small team tasked with chassis structure, analysis and ergonomics. The team's car 'BlackJack Special' was the first of which from the university to complete scurinteering and patcipate in the endurance event held at Silverstone motor circuit a truly memorable moment for the University and it's team.
Research interests
My post-graduate research degree focuses on the end of injection fluid dynamics, specifically looking at fuel sprays and film formations. Other current interests include:
- Experimental fluid dynamics
- Computational fluid dynamics
- Optical diagnostic techniques for sprays
- Micro and macroscopic imaging of sprays
