Children and Young People's Voice and Education Research and Enterprise Group

Organization profile

Profile Information

We develop high-quality research into babies, children and young people’s voice, education, care and rights with the aim of making a positive impact on their lives; wellbeing, experiences and aspirations.

Our work seeks to engage with children and young people, and those who work with and on behalf of them, as active participants and as potential agents of change in the research process. Aiming to help them to contribute positively to their institutions and communities, we explore the reciprocal relationships between power, babies’, children’s and young people’s rights and voice. Evaluating the impact of projects aimed at enhancing opportunities is fundamental to our work.

Our research is grounded in both culture and context across local, regional, national and international settings. We collaborate with academics, policymakers, professional associations, non-governmental organisations and community groups, and beneficiaries include babies, children, young people, professionals and the wider society.

We are interested in employing and developing child-sensitive and innovative research methodologies and techniques. With our emphasis on child-focused educational enquiry and working with marginalised young people, we endeavour to promote social justice, drive innovation and increase practical and relevant participation. Our robust research evidence and evaluations inform public debate, professional approaches, and policymaking
