Organisation profile

The Built Environment, Architecture and Construction (BEACON) Research and Enterprise Group sets out to advance the frontiers of knowledge and innovation in architecture, the built environment and construction through cutting-edge, alternative and innovative research methodologies, interdisciplinary collaboration and sustainable practices.

Our mission is to inspire transformative solutions that enhance the resilience, efficiency and quality of our natural and built environments, fostering harmonious, long-term, global relationships between people and their respective environments. We aim to improve the quality of lives through responsive, proactive and sensible utilisation of technology and its associated nexus of data, information, knowledge and wisdom.

BEACON seeks to facilitate digital transformation in/of architecture and the built environment to pave the way towards liberating the workforce for concentrating more on planning, strategising, innovation, and technology-based creativity and development (Industry 4.0). We aim to help the discipline/industry and their associated and inter-dependent sector(s) to move towards prosperity beyond mere vocation and growth, freeing up further human, organisational and societal capacities to concentrate on the personal and social well-being of employees, all space users and develop holistic health in the built and natural environments (Industry 5.0).
