The Carl Zeiss EVO LS15 is an environmental SEM providing the capability to prevent dehydration artefacts in the microscopy of biological specimens.
A Peltier Coolstage allows the study of hydrated samples in their native state with little or no loss of water. The ability to vary pressure within the microscope chamber allows the analysis of both conductive and non-conductive samples.
Using the Everhart-Thornley Secondary Electron Detector, the Zeiss EVO LS15 has a resolution of 3nm at 30kV, 10nm at 3kV and 20nm at 1kV.
An Oxford Instruments 80mm X-Max SDD detector alongside AztecEnergy EDS software provides full elemental analysis capabilities.
