    Description

Port Eliot Literary Festival. Public lecture on Visual Storytelling, focussing on my novel Overland, published by Chatto & Windus, March 2018. The lecture explained the true background story of how in the wake of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour the US Army commissioned Hollywood set designers to fabricate an entire fake town on top of the vast Lockheed Aircraft Factory, making it blend into the surrounding landscape as a way to camouflage it from potential Japanese air attack.
