Drawing on themes in the recently published The Image of Whiteness: Contemporary Photography and Racialization (SPBH Editions, 2019), Daniel C. Blight, David Birkin, Sutapa Biswas, Claudia Rankine, and Stanley Wolukau-Wanambwa present and discuss the violent invention of whiteness — its political, cultural, and visual life — as well as the important work photographers are doing to subvert and critique its hegemony in the present day.
