I delivered a research presentation as part of the School of Art and Media’s SAMRKE Week 2024 programme. Presentation title: The challenges of women video journalists working in news. This session drew on my doctoral research examining the experiences of women video journalists across Europe, the Americas, Africa, and the Asia‑Pacific. The presentation explored gender‑specific risks and professional challenges encountered in the field, the increasing demands of multi‑skilling in contemporary journalism, and the gap in existing literature regarding the experiences of women VJs in mainstream news organisations.
