Description

The Inter-professional student conference is a long running and well-established part of the curriculum for students studying on courses involved in the provision of health and social care. The aim of the conference is to enable students from a wide range of professional disciplines to come together to ‘learn with, from and about each other’ (CAIPE, 2016), with an aim to enhance multidisciplinary collaboration in practice (WHO, 2010; Busari, Moll and Duits, 2017; Romijin et al, 2018).The conference usually takes place on two sites and is structured around facilitated workshops with patients, service users and experts discussing a range of topics, with students having the opportunity to engage with each other to explore the topics raised.
With the recent move towards a digital approach to learning and an increase in the emergence on online conferences, a decision was taken to hold the inter-professional student conference online. This session will include a cross-school panel discussion where we reflect on the strengths and limitations of adopting a digital approach and where to go from here.
