This project develops a case study that allows us to test ideas about the use and purpose of archives in shaping policy and practice across a range of contexts. It investigates the power of archives within advocacy processes, by working with a charity to create an institutional archive, enhancing the charity’s ability to work with young advocates-in-training, as well as offering materials for the charity’s advocacy work with policymakers (local, regional, national). Harriet is running the project in collaboration with curator and cultural strategist Clare Cumberlidge, artist and archivist Êvar Hussayni and youth organisers The Advocacy Academy and the linked Royal College of Art-led project Radical Archiving for Change.
