Join us for a conversation with Vanessa Marr (University of Brighton) about creative practice and creative community projects. Vanessa is well known for her #domesticdusters, #swearydusters and #domesticacademics community research projects. We’ll be discussing the quilt, its process, Vanessa’s Domestic Duster project, and working on collaborative community-based projects. The huge Domestic Academics Quilt will be on display. It presents 23 personal reflections on the COVID lockdowns of 2020 and 2021 by UK- based women academics with caring responsibilities. The aim of this project is to document the impact of COVID-19 on the working lives of women academics, to provide a bedrock for discussion, to protect and value women’s contributions to research and to begin to address the inequalities faced.
