Invited speaker to 'Photology: The Light and the Word', a long-standing photography talks series in Hastings, to coincide with the October 2023 iteration of PhotoHastings photography festival:
Over the last two decades, Annebella Pollen has built a body of publications based on photographic materials pushed to the margins. From photographic ephemera in end-of-life house clearances to dismantled 35mm slide collections, she’s become invested in what gets wasted and saved, what gets culturally consecrated and what gets culturally overlooked. Annebella’s talk follows this photographic thread through some of her previous projects and shows how it is informing her current preoccupations.
