This panel will offer insight into how Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools offer transformative potential for advancing sustainable development by addressing global challenges across social, economic and environmental domains. Bringing expertise from researchers across the Computing and Mathematical Sciences Research Excellence Group, the panel will offer insights into technologies such as human-centred AI, large language models (LLM) (e.g. ChatGPT), information retrieval, and generative-AI to assist creative tasks. It will also provide a scientometric-based overview on how sustainable development goals are being addressed by these approaches. The talks will be of interest to researchers from a range of disciplines.
