Investigating how university educators explore issues of race, ethnicity, culture and (in)equality with students on social science related degree programmes: reflections on the challenges, possibilities and process
Activity: External talk or presentation › Oral presentation
Description
Reflecting on experiences of the research process relating to a national research project that aimed to investigate how university educators explore issues of race, ethnicity, culture and (in)equality with students on social science related degree programmes at UK Universities. Integral to the project were two significant research instruments; a national survey of 30 universities offering social science related courses and 5 subsequent focus groups with participants drawn from the survey respondents. This discussion considered the challenges and possibilities that arose during data collection as a result of the research focus. It will also provide an opportunity for the research team to present and reflect on preliminary findings. The project team included a student researcher funded by the Student Research Experience Scheme who will contribute their reflections on their engagement with the research.
