The second conference exploring the role that the arts play in supporting access opportunities for students from more diverse backgrounds. It builds on the work initiated at the inaugural conference (2016) which identified a national reduction in arts education despite the unparalleled sector success of the Creative Industries. It provided a platform for educational academics and practitioners to present research and less formal evidence that clearly illustrate pathways into academia, higher education and post-graduate research enabled by routes through 'the Art School'.
