Description
In this session, we will discuss the essential aspects of Open Research and why it is crucial to enhance the visibility and impact of your research. We will examine how important persistent identifiers and CRediT taxonomy are. Moreover, it is crucial to update and establish profiles on various academic social media platforms, such as Google Scholar and ResearchGate. We will review the open-access publishing landscape, the main open research infrastructures (e.g. databases and repositories), and how preprints and data sharing can impact visibility and increase citations. Apart from the benefits of open research, we will explore the main threats to research integrity, which include predatory publishing and questionable practices that have been a negative consequence of the good efforts of open research initiatives. At the end, we will also demonstrate the link between Open Research and the framework of responsible use of metrics, as well as the new reforms of research assessment, such as CoARA and DORA.Period | 25 Mar 2024 |
