Description
Presentation title: Podcasting in Learning and Teaching: possibility, potential and pursuit
As part of a funded Digital Learning Partnerships project during 2021-23 at the University of Brighton, staff worked with student partners to develop digital learning projects to enhance learning. Several podcasting projects were produced in discipline-specific areas and in this presentation we will be showcasing podcasts from pharmacy and learning and teaching. The presenters most recently recorded a podcast episode live with an audience at the University’s Education and Student Experience Conference in July 2024. Through networking with academics and professional services’ staff across the university, a Podcasting in Learning and Teaching Community of Practice has been set up to share practice and increase engagement in this medium.
In this presentation, we will provide an overview of podcasts from staff in the Learning and Teaching Hub and School of Applied Sciences: a podcast talking to students about transition into, through and out of university, Changing Spaces, the Talking about Teaching podcast which complements a university-wide programme of educational development seminars, workshops and blog run by the Learning and Teaching Hub and the MUG-HUB (Medicine Users Group-Hub) podcast, a go-to resource for current perspectives of medicines use developed by two staff members in the School of Applied Sciences. In addition, we will discuss the growing interest in podcasting in relation to learning and teaching and the emerging community of practice at the University of Brighton.
