Enhanced Quality Assurance Practices for Global Recognition

Description

invited as a guest lecturer on 'Enhanced Quality Assurance Practices for Global Recognition' to the Leadership and Governance Training Series, organised by Edinburgh Napier University, with participation from Deans and Heads of Departments representing over 60 universities across Pakistan.

The conversations were powerful—rooted in ambition, yet grounded in the realities of higher education in the region. The session was packed with honest conversations around international quality standards, and the very real challenges universities in Pakistan are facing—from aligning institutional vision, navigating funding constraints, and building academic capacity, to the pressing need for better technological infrastructure.

We reflected on challenges—misaligned visions, limited resources, and technological gaps—but also on the enormous untapped potential that exists across Pakistan’s universities.

A highlight of the session was our discussion on the importance of an Inclusive Curriculum and the introduction of Circular Pedagogy, drawn from the recently published book 'Decolonising Marketing and Theory'. These are critical discussions if we’re serious about building globally relevant, inclusive, and equitable academic systems.

What stood out most? The energy and insight in the room. The potential across Pakistan’s higher education landscape is huge—it just needs the right support and space to grow.
