Embassy Lab GRÜNtopia

Activity: EventsOutreach and Public Engagement

Description

Current issues such as climate change, the rapid loss of biodiversity, and accelerating ecological concerns urge us to reconsider our relation to nature. This urgency to incorporate nature in urban settings creates a huge potential for innovation in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, and urbanism. Embassy Lab GRÜNtopia addresses this convergence of the built environment and nature. This includes, alongside more conventional solutions for integrating green into dense urban settings, innovative greening systems, the integration of food production into architecture, participatory formats, and construction experiments with growing plants.
Embassy Lab GRÜNtopia creates an interdisciplinary framework for crossover exchange between Dutch, German, and international experts, creative professionals, engaged citizens, and decision makers.
Embassy Lab GRÜNtopia is part of “MakeCity,” a citywide international festival for architecture and urban alternatives that takes place in Berlin from June 14th to July 1st 2018.
