This workshop provides an introduction to bibliometrics, offering participants the foundational knowledge and practice to understand and apply bibliometric techniques in research outputs analysis. By the end of the session, attendees will be able to explain the concept of bibliometrics and its applications in analysing research impact and productivity. The workshop will cover key bibliometric databases and commonly used indicators, enabling participants to identify and interpret relevant data. Attendees will gain hands-on experience examining research outputs across major citation databases. Additionally, the session will explore various journal classification systems and how to leverage data sources to evaluate and compare scholarly journals.
