Description
This project outlines a short-term Citizen Science Creative Residency immersion hosted by The Floating Stories Lab Association (France) and University of Brighton (UK), designed to bring together creative practitioners to explore human–ocean relationships through creative practice and participatory research. The residency responds to the growing ecological challenge of marine pollution from end-of-life boats, particularly fiberglass waste along European coastlines. While scientific research documents the impacts of this pollution, public understanding and cultural engagement remain limited.
Impact aims:
•Increase public and academic awareness of marine degradation through creative interpretation
•Support new interdisciplinary methods combining citizen science and arts
•Contribute to practice-based knowledge that can inform environmental communication, education, and policy discourse
