Description
Join us for an in-depth exploration of one of Sargent’s most iconic paintings
Zooming in on Sargent’s portrait, Ellen Terry as Lady Macbeth, the event will explore multiple facets of the artist’s work through a multi-disciplinary lens. We will be joined by conservators, curators, fashion historians and academics for a discursive talk that focuses on a single work to shed light on Sargent’s portraiture practice and its historical context.
Please note this is an in-person talk taking place in Tate Britain's Clore Auditorium.
This event is part of the Terra Foundation for American Art Series: New Perspectives.
This event has been provided by Tate Gallery on behalf of Tate Enterprises Ltd.
