Agroecological Urbanism Future Heritage in Ghent, Intensive Summer School Programme.

Description

I have been invited to deliver an introductory lecture to this Intensive summer school, hosted by the University of Ghent. In this summer school participants are asked to engage with local stakeholders to develop alternative policies regarding publicly owned farmland. The current tendency is to sell this land off, and participants will try to imagine new forms of urban antistructure that contribute to the local support of agroecological farmers. My lecture will draw on our Continuous Productive Urban Landscape work and recent experiences from Nerima in Tokyo. The summer school is co-funded by the EU Erasmus+ and Association of European Schools of Planning’s (AESOP) Food Group.
