Description

How research institutions are measuring progress and impact
Since the United Nations first published the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2016, many countries, organizations and institutions have integrated them into their work at varying levels. However, capturing and reporting on contributions towards the SDGs at scale remains a challenge.

Join us for a session that will explore the progress made in meeting this challenge. We will discuss the application of impact measures for SDGs and how both institutions and organizations are contributing to their reliability and effectiveness. We will also present reliable tools and solutions that can help you to measure your institution’s contributions.

Speakers and topics include:

Tommaso Ciarli, Senior Researcher in Economics of Innovation at UNU-MERIT, United Nations University, and SPRU, University of Sussex, who will discuss the need to realign science, technology, and innovation with the SDGs and how he used publication data to inform his recommendations for the future.

Barbara S. Lancho Barrantes, Senior Lecturer, Data Analytics and Data Science, University of Brighton, whose bibliometric assessment of a variety of data sources helped to validate the use of statistical procedures that simplify complexity and reveal connections to SDGs.

Ryan Fry, Lead Data Scientist, Institute for Scientific Information (ISI)™, who will address the evolving role of bibliometric analysis for SDG implementation and share further developments coming from Clarivate.

Ann Beynon, Customer Success Manager, Clarivate, who will provide a brief demo of InCites Benchmarking & Analytics™.
